Jack Chalker was born in October 1918 in London
and graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1951, leaving as an
RBA and subsequently RWA. A painter and book illustrator, he has
recently been elected a fellow of the Society of Medical Artists
of Great Britian for his work as a surgical and medical illustrator
which originated during the Second World War. Formerly the Principal
of the West of England College of Art, he now practises advanced
anatomical research and development. Married with three sons and
a daughter, he now lives near Wells in Somerset.
